At a glance
- Capacities: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 20+ TPD CBG
- Feedstocks: paddy straw, Napier grass, cattle dung, press mud, food & municipal organic waste, mixed feed
- Technology: CSTR anaerobic digestion, membrane gas holders, biogas upgrading, CBG compression, PLC/SCADA
- Beyond gas: FOM, LFOM, biochar, pellets and briquettes from digestate
Our EPC model: Pre-CBG + CBG + Post-CBG
India's CBG sector is entering a new growth phase under the GOBARdhan National Unified Scheme. Building a successful compressed biogas plant takes much more than installing a digester, a purifier and a compressor. The real challenge is integrating the complete value chain, so that is how Biovardhan builds its EPC model.
- Biomass
- Pretreatment
- Digestion
- Biogas
- Purification
- Compression
- CBG
- Digestate
- FOM
- LFOM
- Biochar
- Pellets / Briquettes
Many EPC discussions focus mainly on the digester, purification and compression sections. A CBG project starts before the digester and continues after the gas is produced. With one EPC umbrella, the plant owner has one partner responsible for the whole chain instead of several vendors blaming each other.

Why some CBG EPC projects underperform
A CBG plant that consistently produces its designed gas quantity and quality is an engineering achievement. Common reasons plants fall short:
- Inadequate feedstock characterisation and copy-paste plant design
- Wrong or insufficient pretreatment of fibrous biomass, leading to floating layers and poor digestion
- Poor slurry preparation, feeding, mixing and hydraulic design
- Inadequate temperature and process control
- Weak integration between digestion, purification and compression
- Weak commissioning, little operator training and no dependable after-sales support
- Project economics built on unrealistic gas-yield assumptions
Our philosophy addresses each one: feedstock first, engineering second, equipment third. Every project is engineered around its actual feedstock, operating conditions, required gas output and economics, not around a standard equipment package.
In-house manufacturing & technology partnerships
We aim to be more than an EPC coordination company. With about 125,000 sq. ft. of covered manufacturing infrastructure, our approach combines engineering with manufacturing:
- Agitators and mixing systems
- Bio shearing machines for biomass pretreatment
- Feedstock handling equipment
- Digester integration components
- SCADA & plant automation
- FOM / LFOM processing machinery
Biovardhan is an Authorized Channel Partner of AMOCO Membrane Gas Holders for India, bringing proven membrane gas-storage technology into CBG projects. Scrubbers, purifiers and compressors are sourced from reputed manufacturers and integrated by our engineering team.

Frequently asked questions
Turnkey EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) for a CBG plant covers process design, feedstock handling and pretreatment, digesters and agitators, gas storage, H₂S/moisture/CO₂ removal, compression and cascades, civil, mechanical and electrical works, PLC/SCADA automation, safety systems, digestate handling, installation, commissioning and performance testing under a single contract.
Biovardhan combines EPC with in-house manufacturing of agitators, biomass shearing machines and plant components. We add biomass pretreatment before the digester and digestate-to-FOM, biochar and pellet solutions after it, which we call Pre-CBG + CBG + Post-CBG. We are also an Authorized Channel Partner of AMOCO membrane gas holders for India.
